Letting and Bids

Special Notice to Contractors – Bid Proposal Request System (BPRS)

To streamline contractor access to bidding functions, TxDOT is integrating the Bid Proposal Request System (BPRS) into the integrated Contractor Exchange (iCX), our electronic bidding system, beginning Oct. 16, 2017. Both systems will run concurrently for two letting cycles before BPRS is discontinued on Dec. 8, 2017.

Special Notice to Contractors – E-Verify Affirmation Requirement Effective for October 2017 Contracts

Effective with all October 2017 projects, all prime contractors and subcontractors on construction and maintenance projects must submit documentation affirming registration and participation in the Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify system.

Qualified prime contractors will be unable to bid on TxDOT projects until the documentation has been provided. Subcontractors will not be approved to work on TxDOT projects until the documentation has been provided.

Letting and Bid Information

Before a project can be bid on by a business, TxDOT must let it, or make it available for bidding. The letting and bidding process with TxDOT allows the Agency to get the most competitive pricing on a project and allows multiple businesses to compete for business with TxDOT.

TxDOT builds and maintains thousands of miles of roadway annually and depends on the business community to complete these projects. Here, you will find information related to contract letting and awarding.
