Campaign season provides for a public refresher on state sign laws
BROWNWOOD – With political signs beginning to sprout across the Texas landscape as we enter another campaign season, TxDOT wants to remind everyone that it is against the law to place signs of any kind within highway rights of way.
What You Need to Know:
All signs that are posted in the right of way will be removed by TxDOT crews without prior notice. All costs associated with sign removal will be paid by the sign owner.
The Texas Department of Transportation is responsible for maintaining 80,000 miles of road and for supporting aviation, rail, and public transportation across the state.
